When it comes to having a good time, the power of a budget is often underestimated. In other words, people mostly think they have to break the bank for enjoyment or to make memories. But contrastingly, economizing has a sweeter less wallet wrenching effect.

Even better, it helps you live within your means to avoid being helplessly broke. Remember, the goal is to go out, have fun and create memories, and not live with regret after.

First off, you have to create a budget to have one. Decide how much you have to spend on what truthfully and strategically. You’re the only one that knows how much you earn and what you can afford to splurge on or be frugal with.

When you’ve created your budget, the next thing to do is to ask yourself what you want to do and what you want out of it. Is it to eat good food, music, art or shop and spoil yourself? Once you figure this out, it’s easy for you to know how flexible, rigid or revisable your budget is.

3. Look up places and prices

Now that you know what you want to do, it’s time to find the perfect spot! Thanks to social media, menus and price lists are now available for your perusing, with discounts and sales to consider. So basically, scan through your options and decide what your funds can cover without breaking the bank.

4. Stick to the budget

Being outside comes with a lot of financial temptations but it’s important to stay focused on your goal of not being broke. And if you’re in the midst of company making it harder, let them know your budget and stand your ground. There’s no shame in the prudent game.

5. Stay consistent 

Finally, being intentional and following through with your budget is important. Don’t just make it a one time thing, make sure you stick to it for your future days/nights out.
