If there’s one thing that takes a major hit in the rainy season, it’s your immune system. Asides the traffic and flooding affecting a lot of areas and people commuting, it affects one’s health. From stubborn colds to irritating fevers, there’s a lot to deal with internally and physically. 

In other words, your immune system needs to be protected and paid attention to. Essentially, it’s built with special organs, cells and chemicals to fight off infections but it needs to be taken care of. You want it to do it’s job and make sure you’re doing your part to help it be efficient.

1. Don’t skip your vitamin c

2. Stay hydrated

Are you a tea lover? Then this would be easy for you. Other than drinking enough water, you need to take herbal teas or hot soups that can flush out toxins and keep you hydrated.

3. Stay as dry as possible

It goes without saying that raincoats and umbrellas are your friend this season so you need to make sure you have one or both. Try checking for weather updates before leaving your house. Wet clothes reduce your body temperature, making you vulnerable to all sorts of infections. So simply put, don’t be caught unwarm!

4. Eat healthy 

For the sake of your immune system, this isn’t the time to eat junk food. Incorporate lots of fruits and vegetables into your diet so you can get all the minerals, vitamins and antioxidants you need. 

5. Maintain good hygiene

Finally, wash your hands frequently and keep a sanitizer close by. And if someone’s coughing or sneezing a lot in your environment, keep a proper distance from them so you’re not exposed to bacteria and germs.
